RESERVE
YOUR SHOW DATE
Reserved Show Date Fee
The ACFA membership approved a proposal to institute a
nonrefundable deposit of $50 to reserve a show date (Show Rule
Article III, Sec 5), which will be applied as a credit toward
the Show License fee as long as the reserved date does not
change.
Procedures:
- The $50 reserved show date deposit will commence with the
2000-2001 show year starting May 1, 2000.
- Any club wishing to reserve their show date will remit to
Central Office a $50 deposit with their Show License
application, or may remit the full Show License fee ($25 per
ring up to a maximum of $200). The deposit or fee will serve
to reserve their show date, it will be entered in the
Official Show Calendar, on the Website and in the Bulletin.
- Any Show License applications received after May 1, 2000
without the $50 deposit or the full fee, will NOT be entered
on the Show Calendar nor the ACFA Website Calendar.
- Clubs with a history of an established show date will be
given the first opportunity to officially reserve a show
date, with 10 days to respond in the event of a conflict.
This pertains to shows potentially being held in the same
city or close proximity. In the event of situations arising
in the same region, the Regional Director will be consulted.
- The balance of the show license fee is to be remitted to
Central Office 30 days prior to the show date. If the
reserved show date has changed, the $50 deposit will not be
credited towards the show license and the full fee must be
paid.
- The Show Calendar will reflect a 13 month rolling
calendar. No show date reservations will be accepted more
than 13 months in advance except for the show held during
the Annual.
Rational:
This measure removes some of the
uncertainty of traditional show dates used by ACFA cat clubs. Occasionally,
clubs (for economic reason) are unable to make the decision to
host a cat show on their traditional date for a given year. This
has resulted in some lucrative calendar dates sliding by without
an ACFA show scheduled. In hind-site, these dates could have
been made available to other clubs in the region.
The new Reservation Rule is NOT an additional cost to ACFA
clubs, since the $50 reservation fee is deductible from the show
license fee. It is merely an Advanced partial payment of the
License fee to demonstrate the Clubs sincerity in having ACFA
reserve their show date.
This new ruling give the
traditional cat club 10 days to secure their traditional show
date IF another club seeks that particular calendar date or
weekend. .
