Facility Inspection Program
ACFA strives to promote the health of all cats through awareness and communications. We provide information, guidance, referrals and resources concerning feline health matters to breeders, veterinarians, humane/welfare organizations, the media and Cat Owners. To aid in the promotion of health and welfare of the cats, ACFA is initiating a Cattery/Cat Haven Facility Inspection program.
ACFA's Facility Inspection Program Key Points
- All ACFA-registered Catteries/Cat Havens are permitted to actively participate in the ACFA Facility Inspection program.
- After successfully passing the inspection by a Facility Inspector, the ACFA-registered Cattery/Cat Haven owner(s) will receive a certificate stating that they have an ACFA Cattery/Cat Haven of Distinction.
- ACFA will accept proof of current inspection and approval under any similar inspection program from any federal, state, county, provincial or local government which has such an program in effect. The Cattery/Cat Haven owner(s) must pay the initial annual fee of $20.00 and will receive a certificate stating that they have an ACFA Cattery/Cat Haven of Distinction, which will expire no later than the certificate on which they are relying. Renewals will be done at the then-current renewal rate in the same manner.
- For the first year of the Facility Inspection Program, ACFA will accept proof of current inspection and approval under any similar inspection program from any national cat registry which has such an program in effect. The Cattery/Cat Haven owner(s) must pay the initial annual fee of $20.00 and will receive a certificate stating that they have an ACFA Cattery/Cat Haven of Distinction, which will expire no later than the certificate on which they are relying.
- For a period of one (1) year following the date on the certificate, the ACFA-registered Cattery/Cat Haven may advertise or otherwise promote the Cattery/Cat Haven, using the ACFA logo, stating it is an ACFA Cattery/Cat Haven of Distinction. No cattery may use such advertising or promotional language during any time when the Facility Inspection Certificate is NOT in effect.
